Notorious Criminal Bobrisky Captured as Wike Promises to Pay N30m Bounty


The Nigerian Army has captured on notorious criminal, Bobrisky of Gokana, less than 24 hours after Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state promised a N30 million bounty.

The Nation reports that the governor confirmed the arrest of the cultist at a security meeting with leaders of Rumuolumeni Community at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday, August 9.

The governor promised to redeem his pledge and thanked the army for the arrest.

He said: “The army has captured Bobrisky of Gokana. I will pay the bounty that I promised to the Nigerian Army.

“Anyone who generates insecurity in Rivers State, I am ready to pay any amount to ensure the arrest of that person”.

Governor Wike called on community leaders “to supply information to the State Security council on criminals in their communities for the security agencies to act frontally to reduce crime.”

He said Rumuolumeni has become one of the places where criminals use the waterway as a getaway point.

Governor promised that his administration will construct roads in the community.

He said: “Key roads in the area have been primed for construction. I urge you to have confidence in us that we will continue to develop the area.”

The commissioner of police of Rivers state, Mustapha Dandaura said almost all communities have been overrun by cultists and that security agencies cannot watch the situation degenerate.

He commended Governor Wike for donating vehicles to the security agencies to fight crime.

Recall that Governor Wike of Rivers state promised to give N30 million to anyone who could give useful information that would lead to the arrest of those who killed a director with the state government during the Choba crisis and a notorious criminal called Bobrisky in Gokana local government area of the state.

Wike made the pledge on Thursday, August 8, when he handed over 40 patrol vans fitted with communication gadgets to Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), police anti-kidnapping, police anti-cultism, federal road safety corps and eagle crime at the Government House, Port Harcourt
